Privacy policy

Account details. If you create an account we store your email address and, where you sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile details those services return — name and avatar. We never receive your Google or Apple password.

Order and cart data. The items in your cart, your saved cart between sessions, and a record of the orders you've started, so your basket survives a reload and your order history stays accurate.

Messages you send us. The name, email, subject, and body of anything submitted through the contact form, so we can reply.

Newsletter signups. Your email address, and which part of the site you subscribed from.

Usage data. Standard analytics and advertising signals — pages viewed, products viewed, items added to cart, and purchases — along with the device and approximate location your browser reports.

We never see or store your card number. Checkout is handled by Shopify's payment infrastructure, which processes the transaction on its own systems. What comes back to us is the order, not the card.

Shopify handles the catalogue, checkout, and payment. Our hosting and database provider stores accounts, saved carts, order records, contact messages, and newsletter signups. Meta and TikTok receive advertising and conversion events from the site. A currency-rate service and an approximate geolocation lookup are used to display prices in your local currency. Review data may come from Judge.me. Each of these acts under its own privacy terms.

We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart and theme preference, and to measure advertising performance through the Meta and TikTok pixels. Blocking advertising cookies in your browser won't stop you shopping — the store works fine without them.

Order records are kept while your account exists, as you'd expect for proof of purchase and returns. Contact messages are kept while the conversation is relevant. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.

You can ask us for a copy of the data attached to your account, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete the account entirely. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. Email info@northwind-store.com and we'll action it — we don't make people jump through hoops to leave.

The store isn't intended for children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
